About
Because sometimes an idea, feeling, or image exists so vividly in my mind that I need to give it a body. Creating is how I make sense of what I feel, how I communicate what words can't, and how I turn something intangible into something real.
I’m fascinated by the abundance of life—love, humanity, nature, history, culture, joy, grief, and all the contradictions that make us human. I find beauty in the way these things exist alongside one another.
I don't believe beauty has to be perfect, distant, or separate from the difficult parts of life. Sometimes beauty is most meaningful when it exists within them.
For me, making is a way of paying attention. It is a way of seeing something clearly, feeling it deeply, and preserving a little piece of it.
I work across different mediums because I don't want to limit where an idea can go. A painting, an object, a surfboard, a drawing, or something I haven't thought of yet can all become another way of speaking.
PEÑAME is my place to explore that.
A collection of things I've made, things I've felt, things I've noticed, and things I find beautiful.
Ultimately, I make things to celebrate being alive—and with the hope that the world is a little more beautiful because they exist..
